New Phrag Book!

Guido has done it again. His newest book is The Genus Phragmipedium: A treatise on the conduplicate-leafed slipper orchids of Latin America by Guide J. Braem in collaboration with Eliseo Tesón & (our own) Sandra L. Ohlund. It was published in Belgium in late 2018, and is not yet available here, even on Amazon. But luckily for MOS members, this lavishly-illustrated tome is available in our own society library!

Paph Book Published!

There's a new Paph book available--and it's an eBook. The book is Paphiopedilum by Braem, Chiron & Ohlund. Yes, that's our own Sandy Ohlund, who has been collaborating with German taxonomist Guido Braem for more than 15 years. It's available from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Google Play and other sites; prices range from $15 to $25 depending on format and vendor. Check it out!

Remembering MOS in Your Year-End Giving

The Michiana Orchid Society is experiencing some financial shortfalls lately--and we do need to find new ways to raise money. Our show costs us a lot. We used to use the facilities free; now we have to pay nearly a thousnad dollars for rent and insurance at Holy Cross College. Show ribbons are an annual expense, and we pay for various speakers during the year, as well as travel expenses for members setting up our MOS exhibits at other shows.

Perhaps some members who donate to various charities during the year or at the end of the year might consider a tax-deductible donation to the Michiana Orchid Society. Our mission, after all, is to educate the public about the wonderful world of orchids.
