The Michiana Orchid Society is an affiliate of the American Orchid Society and a member of the Mid-America Orchid Congress. It is located in the South Bend, Indiana area and serves northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan.

Purposes:
  • To exchange ideas in growing, culture and ailments of orchids
  • To help each member achieve good growing habits for orchid plants
  • To share knowledge within the organization and expand public interest
Meetings:
The Michiana Orchid Society meets on the second Saturday of each month at 1:00 p.m. EST/EDT. Regular meetings are held September through May at the German Township Branch Library, 52807 Lynnewood Avenue, South Bend 46628 (near the corner of Cleveland Road and Portage Avenue). Educational programs are given by members or outside speakers. All are encouraged to 'bring and brag' about their blooming orchids. Field trips and visits to members' homes are planned during the summer months. The December meeting is usually a pot luck and plant swap at a member's home.

Dues:
Annual membership dues are $20 per person, or $30 per couple or family at the same address.

Shows:
Before the pandemic, the Michiana Orchid Society sponsored a fall orchid show & sale annually at Holy Cross College, across from the University of Notre Dame. With a declining membership, we may not be able to resume the show in 2022. The Society often sets up displays at several other area shows and events.

Guests are welcome to attend all meetings and shows.
